Yoga and Ayurveda are inseparable sisters of healing disciplines. Ayurveda is considered the science of self-healing and Yoga is the science of self-discovery. Yoga is part of our Sadhana, daily spiritual practices that support prevention, longevity, and well-being. The term for therapy or treatment in Sanskrit is Chikitsa. Aspects of healing therapy include lifestyle recommendations, diet, herbs, meditation, pranayama, mantras, and of course Yoga. Just as your diet should be individualized, so should your practice of asana.
iRest | Yoga Nidra is a research-based transformative practice of deep relaxation and meditative inquiry. iRest is integrative, in that it heals the various unresolved issues, traumas, and wounds that are present in the body and mind. It is restorative in that it aids its practitioners in recognizing their underlying peace of mind that is always present amidst all changing circumstances of life.
I offer weekly classes and series as well as one-on-one Dyads. Dyads are a co-meditative experience. With my guidance and support we invite, welcome and inquire into challenging emotions, feelings, and pain to meet what is rising in the present moment from a place of openness and creativity. A dyad is beneficial for those who wish to work through anxiety, depression, chronic or acute pain, and self-limiting beliefs and emotions.
People using iRest report:
Decreased stress, anxiety, fear and depression
Decreased insomnia and sleep disturbances
Decreased perception of chronic and acute pain
Improved interpersonal relations
In Ayurveda, your health care is individualized and your yoga practice should be no different. SimpleVeda provides therapeutic yoga asana to cool Pitta, pacify Vata, and stimulate Kapha. These sessions are appropriate for all levels, whether introducing asana into your daily routine or fine-tuning your current practice to neutralize seasonal imbalances. Yoga Asana will be modified for pre and postnatal treatment, injuries, and physical limitations, as these indications can reap great benefit from this therapy.

Throughout my life, I have learned that at any given time, life can pull us off center, which means that we need practices and tools to bring us back home to ourselves so that we can remember and stay true to what is in our hearts. Enjoy these simple meditations that I hope will recenter and support you to live life fully!
“It took me back to my grandma’s kitchen and I brought it back in my bag (the 2 spice Kits), and the feeling of euphoria I had while listening and watching you cook stayed with me all day!! I am thankful to you for the positive loving and spiritual environment you created in there, and I don’t know what other magic was in there but if I knew I’d package it up and recreate it daily!!!”
“Christina was very helpful. In the 8 months or so that I met with her she gave me personalized changes one small step at a time. I believe this is the reason that the practices stuck and truly became “lifestyle changes” instead of fads or overwhelming goals.”
“She is knowledgeable and was always exited to share the ayurvedic knowledge. The good thing about her is that she feels the responsibility towards her clients and always wants them to be healthy and would do her best to provide the details. For me she had bundled the package so well that without taking a pill I could see the difference. She would say, “food is medicine” and over a course of time I could see that happening. “
