Christina Vargas of SimpleVeda

For nearly 20 years, Christina has been sharing her passion and love for helping others live a harmonious life of balance through self-care and self-love through the lens of Yoga and Ayurveda.

As a child, Christina was eager to be in the garden with her grandparents and often would make potpourri and other “medicine mixtures” from her grandmother’s flower garden. Her favorite place in the home was the kitchen and in high school volunteered at medical clinics, nursing homes and physical therapist clinics.  She knew she would be in the healthcare industry one day.

After practicing Yoga for nearly 3 years, she had a terrible skiing accident that forced her to seek medical attention and through this, she realized the power of self-healing and registered for yoga teacher training, and began to self-study Ayurveda. Through this, her life was changed forever.

Although Yoga offered relief for her ongoing health issues, Ayurveda was the catalyst for discovering who she was, healing her ongoing childhood digestive issues, and acne, supporting her to lose unwanted weight, and most importantly, aiding her transcendence through mental and emotional trauma. Because her personal healing journey was so profound,  Christina wanted to learn more. In 2007 she relocated from Dallas to California to go deeper with her studies. After 4 years with the Califonia College of Ayurveda, she completed her internship, residency, and herbal studies, and returned to Dallas with her heart wide open and deep desire to help her students – this is where SimpleVeda was born.

SimpleVeda is a one-stop holistic health destination for healthcare consultations, yoga and meditation classes, ayurvedic apothecary, workshops, retreats, and more.  Allow Christina and her beautiful team to support you in understanding the root cause of your imbalances, reduce stress, and lessen chronic and acute health conditions.  Through instruction, education, love, and guidance, Christina offers clients personalized service that results in seeing their true Selves, and their highest potential, living a happier and healthier life according to their true nature–physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Experiencing her own personal healing journey through Yoga and Ayurveda, and how this incredible science has changed her clients’ lives motivates her each day. She is a believer that living an Ayurvedic and Yogic lifestyle is for everyone! Being a mom of two and a practitioner for her community, she knows first-hand how simple and rewarding this lifestyle can be amidst the hustle of life. She will help you understand your unique body type and support you in making simple changes to your diet and daily habits. Clients appreciate her ability to guide and support them through the complex world of diets and fads.

Christina and her husband reside in the Dallas area, have two beautiful children, a 5-year-old Weimaraner pup, and enjoy cooking, being in nature, spending time at White Rock Lake, composting, and backyard beekeeping with their 7 beehives.

Christina graduated from the California College of Ayurveda in 2009, where she studied to be an Ayurvedic Health Practitioner, Ayurvedic Chef, Ayurvedic Herbalist, and Yoga Therapist. Her warmth and knowledge of the Ayurvedic discipline draw people from many communities. Each year she presents to medical residents at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, helping them realize and make use of the benefits of Ayurveda coupled with modern medicine. Christina is also able to bring a greater understanding of Ayurvedic principles to yoga instructors through annual training at The Yoga Movement. Christina’s aim is to empower yoga instructors to help their students live a life of vitality through the inseparable practice of Ayurveda and yoga.

Christina is especially passionate about bringing nourishment and the science of Ayurveda to women in all stages of life; fertility, pre and post-natal as well as menopause. When women are healthy and strong, the entire family and world flourish.
