Client Case Study: Susan’s Autoimmune Condition

Susan came to me wanting to lose weight. She left having reversed her autoimmune condition and so much more.

Susan had been struggling with weight loss for some time.

No matter how many diets she tried or how much she exercised, nothing changed.

I knew that to help her lose weight, we had to change her relationship with food. A common misconception is that weight loss is only about calories in and calories out. But with Ayurveda, we know there’s more to the story.

As it turns out, there was definitely more to the story!

During the course of our work, Susan was officially diagnosed with an autoimmune disease.

She wanted to heal herself naturally, so that’s what we did!

Together, we corrected her labs and reversed her condition, all while respecting her decision to not lean on prescription medicine.

Part of the healing process was helping Susan find clarity around her desires.

She knew her corporate job wasn’t aligned but wasn’t sure what to do. She also knew she wanted to move closer to family. Through our work together, she gained clarity and discovered she wanted to help others – she made it happen! She moved to a beautiful part of the country, closer to family and she’s a Certified FMCA Health & Wellness Coach and pays it forward by supporting other women.

This is a significant (but often overlooked) part of the Ayurvedic process.

For example, with sugar cravings, this is often a signal of emotional dissatisfaction, so we work on practical tips for changing eating habits AND explore the emotional component of the craving.

For Susan, a large part of her success was her willingness to look within. She bravely explored her emotions and desires, and the changes she made as a result were large contributors to how well she’s feeling today.

These are her own words:

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Christina since 2021. We started working on nutrition and weight loss – ultimately my relationship with food. Along the way I’ve indulged in her amazing treatments which always calm my nervous system and help with a fresh outlook. In the course of our work, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder. Christina’s loving patience helped me find a way to completely correct my labs and condition – and I never took a prescription medicine. It’s been an empowering experience to feel so well! Thank you!”
